Welcome Letter to My New Students
Welcome to LINC Home Study program! My name is Babak, and I will be your teacher in this program. I will help and support you in learning English by guiding you through your study materials and my own notes. In short, I will help you in any way I can to achieve your goal of learning English.
Regarding our weekly contact, I will call you once every week on the phone or Skype (babak.mansouri) at the time that we both have agreed on, and we will have a conversation for about thirty minutes. I will respect our pre-agreed time and will make sure to always call you at that time. If for some reason, I cannot keep the appointment, I will try my best to inform you ahead of time. If for some reason, you cannot keep the appointment, please e-mail me at bmansouri@tcet.com or leave me a message on Skype (babak.mansouri) in advance so that we can re-schedule your weekly meeting during the same week. During our classes I will always encourage you to ask questions, so please write down any questions you may have, and keep them handy so that we can discuss them when I call you.
Please consider the following carefully:
1. You must study for at least 5 hours a week in this program. I can check your online activity, and if you do not study long enough, or if you do not do your homework regularly, you will get warnings and you may eventually be withdrawn.
2. You cannot be absent for more than two weeks in the program. If you have longer absences, you will be withdrawn from the class, and when you decide to come back again, you will have to contact the office at help@linchomestudy.ca and they will put you back on the wait list.
3. Before our appointment each week, you should be ready for the class meaning, you should log on LINC Home Study website, and check your marked homework under "My Messages" tab.
4. Your homework for the first week of the class is your biography. You should write one page about yourself such as your job, education, family, immigration, goals ... and e-mail it to bmansouri@tcet.com. I want to see your writing.
Once again welcome to the program. I look forward to speaking with you again next time.
